I just purchased a mini regierator and the inside of it smells really strong. I guess its the new smell. Should I leave the door open for a few days before putting any food in it?
just leave the refrigirator open for a few days, dont put ay food in it just incase! but when your airing it dont keep it on, also just wash it with a quick cloth and warm water.
Put an open container of baking soda inside. It will last about 3 months and take away nasty odors. I think once the fridge is cold, the smell will be less.
Vanilla is great for cleaning and also covering up smells, get some vanilla cleaner and also some vanilla essence, put the essence in the fridge in a container and close the door, the smell will go through it and it is such a beautiful smell and lasts forever.
* Once it gets to the proper Temperature the smell should go away. Sometimes it is from the rubber seal. If it is still a problem open a box of baking soda and leave it in there.
I would plug it in after you wash it out when it gets cold inside that will help with the smell leave it empty for 24 hours and open a box of baking soda and put the box inside.
Nah. I wouldn’t wait. But I would get some of those FRIDGE IT activated carbon odor absorbers and put a couple in the fridge. You’ve heard of this product I’m sure – activated carbon. It was also featured recently on the food network.
I’ve been using it for years in fridge for the worst left over odors. Works like a charm. Also have these little purple cubes all around the house including trash areas, under sink, cabinets, etc.
Nothing works as well including baking soda which really doesn’t do it for me at all.
I recommend this highly to all my friends. I think we even have a fan club. I just buy on line at the company web site http://www.innofresh.com The always send right away.

That could work, if not try this..
I suggest washing it with watered down bleach incase there is something else there that you cannot see.

Yes, you could do that, but you could also put boxes of baking soda in there also.

no, it’s just the new smell but it won’t actually affect your food
November 12th, 2011 at 12:00 am
well honestly who cares about the smell? as long as it works right
November 12th, 2011 at 12:00 am

no its fine. I mean if you want sure.

put some cut up lemon or lime in there
November 12th, 2011 at 12:00 am
Simply get some soapy water and clean it. Fastest fix ever.
November 12th, 2011 at 12:00 am
Yes. Also put open baking soda in the fridge and keep it in there. It eliminates odor and keeps fruits and veggies fresh.
November 12th, 2011 at 12:00 am
That could work. You could also try wiping down the entire interior with a mixture of baking soda and water.

Yup. Smells like crap. Leave it open or you can put vegetables in it or something. Or baking soda. Crushed coffee beans in a cup work real good.

That smell is from the chemicals and coating used during production. Just clean it before using, and airing it out a bit wouldn’t hurt.

Yes. Keep the door open and the refrigerator unplugged for two days. Then use lysol to clean all the surfaces, and plug it back in.

its fine, i put food in it right away when i got a mini fridge
