How to Get Rid of Odors
I have a Kenmore refrigerator and it is relatively new (4 yrs). Recently, I noticed a mold smell coming from the hot air exhaust on the bottom of the refrigerator. What causes this smell? The refrigerator is cleaned regularly on the inside and does not have a mold or mildew smell on the inside. Any help is appreciated!

There is a plastic pan near the compressor at back of your refrigerator, these pan are meant to collect water when your refrigerator goes into defrost and in returned, the water collected help to cool off your condenser and the compressor. some of the water collect never dried up early enough, with over time the water now build up fungi, mold. etc. To resolve this problem try cleaning the condensate pan once a week or visit the refrigerator store and buy a pan defrost heater. hope thses help. good luck. Have you cleaned the condensers drip pan under the unit? Im not sure what could mold in it. It is just a plastic shallow drip pan to catch condensation from the condenser. If something where to get into it, it would be difficult to locate. Sorry not much help but this has gone unanswered for awhile, I wanted you to get some input about this. If you remove the cardboard {on mine} cover from the back it should give you a good look inside. Good Luck
